1. Sepsis =
Infection + Systemic manifestations of infection
2. SEVERE sepsis = Sepsis + Organ Dysfunction or Tissue Hypoperfusion
3. Sepsis induced HYPOTENSION = SBP < 90 or MAP < 70 or SBP decrease
> 40 or less than two SD below normal for age
4. Septic SHOCK = Sepsis induced hypotension, persisting DESPITE ADEQUATE FLUID RESUSCITATION
5. Sepsis induced TISSUE HYPOPERFUSION = SEPTIC SHOCK, # LACTATE (> 4 mmol/L) or OLIGURIA
